SENIOR FF&E DESIGNER

​

This exciting opportunity allows you to take ownership of FF&E components within high-end residential projects, both in the UK and internationally, while supporting the design direction of the Project Leader. 

​

With a keen eye for design and attention to detail, you'll demonstrate these qualities in your portfolio and through your ability to work independently on documentation. 

​

Key Responsibilities

​

  • Collaborate with Senior FF&E/Interior Designers and Creative Director to prepare concept designs.

  • Assist with presentations to both internal teams and external.

  • Seamlessly collaborate with Interior Designers and the wider project team.

  • Support the preparation of spatial planning and schematic design schemes in AutoCAD, including furniture layout plans and decorative lighting plans (RIBA Stage 2).

  • Contribute to the preparation of design development presentations and documentation, such as furniture selection presentations, furniture layout plans, decorative lighting plans, and joinery detailing (RIBA Stage 3).

  • Prepare FF&E tender documentation packages independently, including drawings, schedules, and specifications (RIBA Stage 4).

  • Help develop procurement scheduling to ensure timely installation.

  • Develop an understanding of the procurement process, including storage, logistics, delivery, and installation, with support from a Procurement Manager and/or Senior FF&E Designer.

  • Liaise with suppliers and consultants to review and approve shop drawings (including sample sign-off).

  • Liaise with the wider design team, including specialist sub-consultants and suppliers as needed.

  • Conduct site visits for inspections at key intervals, demonstrating problem-solving skills when necessary.

  • Support suppliers/contractors on-site by answering formal requests for information (RFIs) and managing design variations.

  • Communicate regularly with clients to manage project deliverables and expectations.

  • Assist Senior FF&E/Interior Designers through key RIBA stages.

  • Communicate effectively, providing updates on personal deliverables and project status.

  • Understand the client’s budget and work within the defined financial parameters.

About You

​

You will have previous experience working within a collaborative, creative, and resourceful team, demonstrating strong project management skills. You will have specialised experience in the design and construction of high-end residential and/or hospitality interior design and FF&E projects.

​

You will also have:

​

  • 4+ years of experience working in the Interior Design and/or Architecture industry.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in FF&E Design or Interior Design.

  • Vectorworks/ AutoCAD skills. You must be capable of documenting work to RIBA Stage 4+.

  • Experience with high-end residential or hospitality projects.

  • The ability to create and push design boundaries to contribute to the company’s design excellence and innovation.

  • Experience taking projects through all documentation stages, with support from senior team members and the project director.

  • A solid understanding of technical details and the ability to develop design drawings into detailed work packages.

  • Site experience, working closely with project managers, contractors, clients, and the wider design team.

  • A solid understanding of UK building regulations and standards relevant to the project/role.

  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop

  • A good understanding of suppliers, materials, fabrics, furniture, sanitary ware, lighting, and ironmongery specifications.

  • The ability to select and develop key FF&E items, work to deadlines (often across multiple projects), and meet site requirements.

  • A collaborative approach within a team of FF&E designers.

  • A strong understanding of cost management and the ability to assist the Design Director in delivering within the budgetary framework set by the client.

JUNIOR DESIGNER

​

The Junior Interior Designer will be responsible for delivering high-quality design outputs, ranging from concept development to FF&E specifications and construction documentation. The role involves working on one major or several smaller projects simultaneously, with oversight from the Design Director. You will ensure tasks and deliverables are completed efficiently to facilitate the successful completion of each project.

​

Main Duties;

​

  • Deliver high-quality design outputs, from concept to construction packages, under the guidance of the Senior Designer / Design Director.

  • Collaborate closely with the project team, following streamlined design management processes and implementation strategies.

  • Document meeting minutes for internal and external design meetings, distributing them to the team for review by the Senior Designer.

  • Conduct sample research for assigned projects.

  • Ensure that project milestones and deadlines are met, working under the Senior Designer.

  • Develop project schedules, design drawings, and facilitate the prototype process by coordinating between the design team and suppliers.

  • Manage the project timetable and budget, working closely with the Procurement manager to ensure smooth project delivery.

  • Maintain the integrity of the agreed design solutions, taking responsibility for the ongoing development of the project.

  • Continuously review project stages with input from the Design Director, particularly for key project milestones.

  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment by supporting team well-being.

About You

​

You will be a creative and detail-oriented Designer with a strong understanding of interior design principles, FF&E specification, and construction. You should be proficient in researching materials, coordinating with suppliers, and maintaining project timetables and budgets.

​
